Pittston High School Class of 1959 will hold their 55th class reunion today, Sunday, July 20.

A Mass for the deceased members of the class was celebrated Saturday in St. Joseph Marello Church (formerly Our Lady of Mount Carmel) on William St. in Pittston.

Festivities for today’s reunion will be held at the Appletree Terrace in Newberry Estates, Dallas. beginning at 5 p.m. There will be a D.J. to provide music for the event, and there will also be a photographer for anyone who wishes to purchase a class picture.

St. John’s class of ‘64

Members of the St. John’s class of 1964 met Tuesday to finalize plans for their 50th reunion.

The reunion is scheduled to be held on Oct. 4 at Fox Hill Country Club, Exeter. Committee members are seeking contact information for Jane Burke, John Centrella, Anna Mae Dombroski, Marilouise Graziano, Edward Harrington and Stephanie Kosik. PA class of ‘89

The Pittston Area Class of 1989 will hold its 25th anniversary class reunion on Aug. 30 at Cooper’s Cabana, Pittston. Cost of $30 per person is due by July 30. Send payments to Gina Gilroy, 457 N. Main St., Suite 100, Pittston, PA 18640.

Code enforcement

The code enforcement officer reminds residents and property owners that pursuant to city ordinance, lawns must be kept mowed to not more than eight inches in height.

PA class of ‘84

The Pittston Area High School Class of 1984 will hold its 30th anniversary class reunion from 6 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Mount Carmel Hall, William Street, Pittston. Catering will be provided by LaFratte’s at $40 per person. Music will be provided by DJ Karaoke Musical Express. Postcards with all information were mailed the week of May 26.

No NARFE meetings

President John Ryan of the Greater Pittston National Association Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) , Chapter 1723 has announced no meetings will be held in July and August.
