HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Police are looking for a driver they said hit and killed a 10-year-old boy who was riding a bicycle in the Katy area Thursday night.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened just before 11 p.m. near the intersection of Windy Stony Drive and Concord Green Drive.

Investigators with HCSO and the Cy-Fair Police Department said no arrests had been made as of Friday morning, but they were actively looking for a suspect.

The 10-year-old was on a bike heading west on Windy Stone and the driver of a dark-colored SUV was heading north on Concord Green just moments before the collision. Investigators said the driver took off shortly after.

The child was flown to an area hospital where he died nearly an hour after the crash.

"The HCSO Vehicular Crimes Division is working in concert with the District Attorney's Vehicular Crimes Unit to investigate and prosecute this crime," said HCSO Capt. Marcus Kinnard-Bing.

Investigators said they were working to gather surveillance video in the area to track down the driver. If you have any information on the crash, you're asked to contact HCSO at 713-221-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
