JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A New Jersey man is facing felony charges after he allegedly tried to have sex with what he thought was a 15-year-old girl.

Phillip Ommundsen, 37, of Torn River, is facing charges after messages between him and a 15-year-old decoy from the 814 Pred Hunters were turned over to the Reynoldsville Borough Police, according to a criminal complaint. On Thursday, Sept. 10 members of the pred hunter group came forward to police with messages that Ommundsen was having sexually explicit conversations with what he thought was a 15-year-old girl.

According to the affidavit, Ommundsen met the minor through a dating app. In conversation, the minor identified her age and Ommundsen said "Good, I like that" and continued to send her sexual messages, photos and voice messages. In one conversation, Ommundsen allegedly told the decoy that he had been with two minors before, a 14 and 16-year-old. Police noted that in the messages, he said he had sex with the 16-year-old and "everything but sex" with the 14-year-old.

In another conversation, Ommundsen told the decoy that he also had 10-15 videos of child pornography which included children as young as eight involved in sexual acts, according to the complaint.

From the messages and phone conversations, Ommundsen then made plans to meet with the teen to have sex. Ommundsen sent the decoy a screenshot of a hotel confirmation and made plans to pick her up in Reynoldsville. He planned to pick the teen up on Friday, Sept. 27 and had booked a room at the DuBois Comfort Inn, according to the messages.

According to the complaint, Ommundsen talked sexually to the decoy and "often referred to her age of 15 being a turn on for him." Police noted that in a phone conversation he also allegedly admitted to talking to three 13-year-old girls and fantasizing about molesting the minor.

In the complaint, Ommundsen noted that if police caught him trying to meet to have sex with her he'd ask them to let him commit the crime first. Lastly, officers noted that in yet another conversation, he allegedly admitted to following a school bus and made comments about checking out the girls as they were getting on the bus.

On Sept. 27, Ommundsen pulled into a store parking lot where he had agreed to pick up the decoy and was taken into custody. He is now in the Jefferson County Prison with bail set at $100,000.

Ommundsen is facing felony charges of criminal attempt of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a person less than 16, criminal attempt of a statutory sexual assault, criminal attempt of sexual assault, criminal attempt of aggravated indecent assault, criminal attempt of corruption of minors and a misdemeanor charge of criminal attempt of an indecent assault.
