ELKO — A man was arrested on charges he broke into a home and threatened to kill a family member.

Theodore R. Fugate, 36, was charged with felony residential burglary and a misdemeanor count of harassment.

According to court records, Elko police were called to a residence on a report of active domestic battery.

The family member told police they had locked themselves in a downstairs bathroom, and Fugate was upstairs "being violent." They also said there was a firearm in the house, but it couldn't be located.

Police said Fugate broke the front door to enter the home and made threats to kill the family member.
