Power Ranking Top 25 Quarterbacks in College Football After Week 10

Wesley Hitt/ Welcome to Bleacher Report's top 25 college football quarterback rankings after Week 10.

These rankings are a weekly feature published each Tuesday morning throughout the 2024 season, with the goal of identifying the 25 best QBs in the country each week as the season unfolds.

The only thing that matters here is on-field production in 2024.

That means past performance, future expectations, physical tools and NFL upside have all been removed from the equation.

Every quarterback's individual production and quality of opponent will be considered each week, and players will rise and fall based on where they ranked the previous week, so it will be a fluid process.

If your favorite team's quarterback is not currently on the list, fear not. If a guy is putting up numbers, he will find his way onto the list. On the flip side, a strong first half of the season will only go so far if a player falls flat in Week 11 and fails to maintain his success.

With three more interceptions on Saturday against Florida, Beck has now been picked off eight times in his last three games, against just five touchdown passes. He has been asked to do a lot, attempting more than 40 passes in each of those games, but the turnovers are piling up and it's getting increasingly difficult to slot him into these rankings.

Madsen has done a great job making teams pay when they stack the box against star running back Ashton Jeanty. He set new season-high marks in passing yards (307) and passing touchdowns (4) in Friday's victory over San Diego State, helping to build a 28-0 lead en route to a 56-24 win.

A 3-star recruit who spent the last two seasons sitting behind prolific passer Austin Reed, Veltkamp has made the most of his first season in the starting role at Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers are 6-2 on the year, and Veltkamp has thrown three touchdown passes in three straight games. His 70.4 percent completion rate also ranks eighth among all qualified passers.

Morton threw for 237 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in Saturday's upset victory over previously undefeated Iowa State. The overall numbers don't jump off the page, but he led a 12-play, 71-yard drive that culminated in the go-ahead score with 24 seconds left in a 23-22 victory.

Allar completed just 12-of-20 attempts for 146 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception in Saturday's loss to Ohio State. The knee injury that knocked him out of Week 9 against Wisconsin appeared to be a non-factor, as he carried the ball 10 times for 31 yards, but the Buckeyes defense kept the Nittany Lions in check.

Barnett has done a terrific job protecting the football this season while racking up 23 total touchdowns in his first year as the starter at James Madison. The Dukes have already suffered a pair of losses after last season's 11-1 regular season, and they will take on Georgia State this weekend after a Week 10 bye.

Hoover leads the Big 12 in passing yards (2,947) and passing touchdowns (21) after throwing for 333 yards and two scores in a 37-34 loss to Baylor on Saturday. He has improved across the board from the numbers he posted last year as a redshirt freshman when he had 2,206 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 10 games.

McCloud is in his fourth collegiate stop after stints with South Florida, Arizona and James Madison last year where he threw for 3,657 yards and 35 touchdowns. He leads the Sun Belt in passing touchdowns (20) and total touchdowns (25), slotting in just ahead of Alonza Barnett III who replaced him under center at James Madison in both categories.

Between missing nearly three full games and having a Week 10 bye, Ewers does not have the same gaudy numbers as most of the players on this list. However, he has completed nearly 70 percent of his passes, and he will have a chance to add to those numbers during a relatively easy stretch run as far as SEC schedules are concerned with Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky and Texas A&M on deck over the next four weeks.

After a 6-0 start to the season, Navy has now lost back-to-back games, and Horvath completed just 10-of-21 pass attempts for 120 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in Saturday's loss to Rice. He still made an impact with his legs, tallying 64 rushing yards and a touchdown, but it was not enough in a 24-10 loss.

Leonard is having a very different season than he did during a breakout 2022 campaign when he threw for 2,967 yards and 20 touchdowns as a first-year starter at Duke. That said, all eight of his passing touchdowns have come in his last five games, so he could be gearing up for a strong finish through the air to go along with his rushing production.

After a brilliant start to the season, Holstein has stumbled a bit over the last three games, completing 59.3 percent of his passes for 489 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. The Panthers suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday against SMU, with the QB failing to find the end zone while throwing his sixth interception of the year.

Pavia has been a difference-maker under center at Vanderbilt after transferring from New Mexico State. The dual-threat standout led the Commodores to a 17-7 victory on the road against Auburn on Saturday, throwing a pair of touchdown passes. With that, Vanderbilt is bowl-eligible for the first time since 2018, and up to No. 24 in the latest AP poll.

Shough logged back-to-back 300-yard passing performances against Miami and Boston College in Week 8 and Week 9. His numbers were not quite as gaudy this past weekend, as he finished with 156 passing yards and did not find the end zone through the air, but he did record his first rushing touchdown of the season in a huge 33-21 win over Clemson.

After a three-interception game against Texas A&M on the road in Week 9, Nussmeier had a chance to reset with a bye in Week 10. He jumps back into action against No. 11 Alabama on Saturday in what amounts to an elimination game in the playoff picture for a pair of two-loss teams.

Mateer racked up 552 passing yards, 76 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns in wins over Hawaii and San Diego State to move into the Top 10 in these rankings. The Cougars had a bye in Week 10 and will be back in action against Utah State on Saturday as they look to stay alive in the playoff picture at 7-1 on the year.

Klubnik had his worst game since Clemson's opener against Georgia in Saturday's game against Louisville, completing just 33-of-56 pass attempts for 228 yards and one touchdown in a 33-21 loss. He never looked fully comfortable under center, and the Tigers leaned heavily on running back Phil Mafah who had 171 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Milroe piloted Alabama to a 34-0 victory over Missouri in Week 9 before the Crimson Tide watched from home during a Week 10 bye. The dual-threat star leads the SEC and ranks fifth in the nation with 25 total touchdowns, and he will need to bring his A-game against LSU on Saturday in a must-win game for Alabama.

After one season at Oklahoma and three seasons at TCU, Morris has been turned loose in the North Texas offense. He ranks fourth in the nation in pass attempts (351), fourth in passing yards (2,873) and second in passing touchdowns (26), and the Mean Green offense is sixth in the nation with 40.8 points per game. After a bye in Week 10, a clash with No. 18 Army is up next on Saturday afternoon.

After Iowa State and Kansas State both lost on Saturday, Colorado is now very much in play for a spot in the Big 12 championship game with a 4-1 record in conference play, leaving them tied with the Cyclones for second in the standings behind undefeated BYU. Sanders has rounded into form nicely after a shaky start to the year, and he will now look to run the table against Texas Tech, Utah, Kansas and Oklahoma State.

    Stats:

Another week, another extremely efficient performance for Dillon Gabriel leading the undefeated Oregon Ducks to another victory.

He completed 22-of-34 pass attempts for 294 yards and a touchdown while also adding 23 rushing yards and his sixth rushing touchdown of the season, and the Ducks came away with a 38-17 victory over Michigan on the road.

A home game against Maryland, a road game against Wisconsin, a Week 13 bye and a home game against Washington is now all that stands between Oregon and an undefeated regular season as they sit atop the AP poll.

    Stats:

Cam Ward added another compelling performance to his Heisman Trophy candidacy on Saturday when he racked up 400 passing yards and five touchdowns in a 53-31 victory over Duke.

The Hurricanes star leads the nation with 29 passing touchdowns and ranks second to Jaxson Dart with 3,146 passing yards, and arguably the toughest remaining hurdle en route to an undefeated regular season is now out of the way for Miami.

Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Syracuse make up the remainder of its regular-season schedule, and Ward could add another 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns to his resume the way things have gone of late.
