Radio DJs Chaz, AJ Toy Fundraiser Underway ...Inside Plexiglas Box AJ's isn't doing 24-hour stay inside this year, rather, local celebs, guests will move in for 2-hour shifts, to see who raises most money.

EAST HAVEN, CT —Chaz and AJ in the Morning, the popular morning show on 99.1 PLR, is taking their annual holiday fundraising tradition to a new level with an exciting twist.

Dubbed the 'Battle of the Box' charity challenge, for the past six years, the show's co-host AJ has raised money for the Chaz and AJ McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven Toy Drive. He spends 24 hours inside a glass box at the dealership located in East Haven.

This year, the show has added a competitive edge—swapping out AJ's marathon stay for a friendly contest among local celebrity personalities, show members, and special guest participants to see who can raise the most donations in two hours.

The Challenge Over two days, November 7th and 8th, the "Battle of the Box" will see Chaz and a series of special guests each take a two-hour shift in the glass box, all aiming to raise as much money as possible for local children's charities.

This year's participants include well-known Connecticut TV personalities like WFSB Channel 3's Marcy Jones and Caitlin Francis, Matt Scott from FOX 61, and WTNH News 8's Dennis House, as well as local YouTube sensations Paulie & Bri, with their dog Koda.

Each will be stationed in the box outside of McDermott, 655 Main St., in East Haven, encouraging fans to donate both online and in-person. The competition promises excitement, community spirit, and an impactful way for listeners to help children in need this holiday season.

Fans and followers can donate online during each participant's time frame or visit the box in person to make cash donations.

Benefiting Charities Proceeds from the "Battle of the Box" will be distributed to local Connecticut organizations that support and care for children: BH Care, The Center for Family Justice, Central YMCA, Boys and Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck, and The Boys and Girls Village. McDermott Chevrolet and Lexus of New Haven hosts and Brown Roofing constructed the glass box. Additional sponsors including Art's Television and Appliance, Pro-Klean, and Chatfield True Value Hardware in Southbury.
