Rain should leave the Wyoming Valley as the week comes to a close

Rain will stick around the Wyoming Valley for today, but sunshine will wrap up the rest of the week.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 56 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with light rain falling this morning.

Showers will be likely before 1 p.m. today, with less than a tenth of an inch of rain expected. Clouds will otherwise blanket the skies, and today’s high will be near 68 degrees.

Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into tonight, along with a chance of sprinkles before 7 p.m. Tonight’s low will be around 52 degrees.

Mostly sunny skies will return on Thursday, with a high near 79 degrees. Partly cloudy skies will follow on Thursday night, with a low around 56 degrees.

Mostly sunny skies will wrap up the week on Friday, with a high near 83 degrees. Partly cloudy skies will carry on into Friday night, with a low around 59 degrees.
