Rams kicker Joshua Karty questionable for 49ers game

LOS ANGELES — Rams kicker Joshua Karty will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, head coach Sean McVay said Friday.

Karty, who injured his groin during last weekend's loss to the Cardinals , was scheduled to practice Friday, and McVay said how that went would determine his outlook for the Rams' home opener. Karty did not practice Wednesday or Thursday.

The rookie kicker, whom the Rams selected in the sixth round of April's NFL draft, has made all three of his field-goal attempts and all three extra-point attempts through two weeks. The Rams (0-2) signed kicker Tanner Brown to the practice squad Wednesday as insurance if Karty can't play against San Francisco (1-1).

Cornerback Cobie Durant (toe) and defensive lineman Bobby Brown III (ankle) will also be listed as questionable for Sunday.

Brown popped up on the injury report Thursday as a limited participant. McVay said his injury occurred during practice.

"Kind of a little scare in terms of being rolled up on in some foot traffic," McVay said. "But seems like everything's going to be OK."

Durant did not practice Wednesday but was limited Thursday. He was listed as questionable last week but was able to play against the Cardinals.

McVay ruled out tight end Davis Allen (back spasms) and wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle). The latter was widely assumed after he suffered an ankle sprain in the loss to Arizona last weekend, and McVay revealed Wednesday that the receiver was in a cast this week.

This will be the second consecutive game Allen has missed. The second-year tight end was targeted once but did not log a reception in the Rams' Week 1 loss to the Lions.
