Rankings: Nebraska high school volleyball, Sept. 24

As the high school volleyball season marches on, here's our latest update to the rankings.

Class A

School (Rec.) | Pvs.

10. Lincoln North Star (9-6) | —

Comments: Papillion-La Vista South's sweep in the LPS Classic over the weekend continued to show how dominant the Monarchs can be. Millard North took down Westside last week. Lincoln Southwest is continuing to impress after sweeping Grand Island twice last week.

Class B

School (Rec.) | Pvs.

Comments: Norris held its own in the LPS tournament, which featured several Class A teams, finishing third and winning five of six matches. Gretna East survived an upset bid by Lincoln Pius X last Tuesday. Omaha Skutt continues to test top-ranked national teams.

Class C-1

School (Rec.) | Pvs.

8. Battle Creek (9-4) | —

9. Chase County (7-3) | —

10. Holdrege (7-1) | —

Comments: Pierce has continued to roll — the Bluejays have won seven straight. Rankings newcomers Battle Creek, Chase County and Holdrege are each riding waves of recent success. The top four teams have continued to dominate.

Class C-2

7. Norfolk Catholic (10-2) | —

Comments: Norfolk Catholic has continued its strong season after sweeping Elgin/PJ last Tuesday, earning its first appearance on the rankings. Yutan has continued its impressive stretch while Lincoln Lutheran hasn't dropped a set since the season opener against Waverly.

Class D-1

8. Alma (13-5) | —

9. Osceola (10-1) | —

10. Kenesaw (9-4) | —

Comments: Brady has continued its impressive stretch, winning nine straight. Kenesaw swept four matches last week including a strong win over Deshler.

Class D-2

School (Rec.) | Pvs.

Comments: S-E-M and Amherst's match last Tuesday went the distance, and S-E-M prevailed. Meridian stumbled last week, dropping matches to quality opponents in Johnson-Brock and Diller-Odell.
