Red Raiders Volleyball Sweeps FIU
SEPT 19 - McGraduate Aliyah McDonald and the Texas Tech Red Raiders volleyball team swept the FIU Panthers, 25-15, 25-23 and 25-19 on Thursday at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center in University Park, Florida.
McDonald posted a season-high eight kills in the match, going 8-for-18 for a .389 hitting clip while leading the Red Raiders with four blocks. Mia Wesley led all Tech players with nine kills with Brynn Williams and Emily Merrick totaling seven apiece. Merrick also contributed two blocks and a .467 clip on 15 swings.
The Red Raiders next face Miami on Friday at 5 p.m. CT in the Knight Sports Complex.
The Red Raiders men's tennis is in action for a pair of tournaments this weekend at the Battle in the Bay Classic (Sept. 12-15) in San Francisco and the Waco Fall Tennis Classic (Sept. 13-15) hosted by the Baylor Bears.

The women's tennis team will find action for the first tournament of the fall at the 37th Annual Debbie Southern 2024 Furman Fall Classic on Sept. 13-15 in Greenville, S.C.
The eight Lady Raiders – Elena Daskalova, Yekaterina Dmitrichenko, Mariia Hlahola, Andreea Lila, Hailey Murphy, Arina Oreshchenkova, Avelina Sayfetdinova and Jermine Sherif – head to Greenville, S.C. to compete in the first tournament of the fall season. The Lady Raiders are coming off a strong 2024 spring season that resulted in 20 victories. Five players returning to the roster from last year.

As the Texas Tech Red Raiders men's tennis program is gearing up for its 2024-25 season, it's added another transfer.
Tandil, Argentina, native Felipe Pagnacco is joining the program as coach Michael Breler announced on Wednesday morning.
Pagnacco has a stellar past in both junior and professional ranks with 15 singles titles this year alone. He holds a career-high ATP singles ranking of 1611 and a career-best ITF singles ranking of 423.
Pagnacco , who has three years of eligibility remaining, picked up wins over ITF No. 11 Maximilian Figl, ITF No. 225 Tadeo Meneo and ITF No. 83 Luciano Carraro, and advanced out of the qualifying round of the Tucuman 25k.
He beat Franco Roncadelli in the main draw.
Pagnacco also advanced out of both qualifying draws for the Quillota 15k and the Santiago 15k, winning six singles titles between the two tournaments.
