BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Palm Beach County public schools are open on Monday, but schools in Broward County and most government offices across the region are closed in observance of Veteran's Day — November 11, 2024. The following is a list of what's happening and what's closed, according to information provided to BocaNewsNow.com. All Palm Beach County public schools are OPEN on Veteran's Day. The school day is a normal school day, with early care, aftercare, athletic, and other extracurricular activities as normal. The next day off for Palm Beach County public school students is November 25th — the start of a week off for Thanksgiving. Broward County public schools on Monday.

City of Delray Beach is holding a ceremony, and provided this information: "Join us as we honor and celebrate those who have served our country at our Veterans Day Ceremony. Taking place on November 11 at 9 AM in the Vintage Gymnasium at Old School Square, this heartfelt event will pay tribute to the sacrifices and dedication of our veterans. We invite all veterans, their families, and the community to come together for a morning of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude. The ceremony will feature special speakers, musical performances, and the presentation of honors."

City Of Boynton Beach is holding a ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park. 411 North Federal Highway, Boynton Beach, 33435, from 11 a.m. until noon. A Veterans Day golf tournament is set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at "the links" at 8020 Jog Road. Here the official information.

All Palm Beach County government offices are closed on Monday. Trash collection is NOT impacted by the holiday in unincorporated Palm Beach County. From the Solid Waste Authority: Garbage, recyclables, yard waste and bulk waste collection will not be impacted for residents and businesses in unincorporated Palm Beach County on Monday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.

Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County (SWA) disposal facilities will be open and haulers in unincorporated Palm Beach County will run their regular routes. Residents should place all garbage, recyclables and yard waste curbside by 6 a.m. While SWA administrative offices will be closed, a limited number of customer service team members will be available to assist residents with any garbage or recycling collection questions or concerns. The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce that the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10556 will host their annual Veterans Day Program at Veteran's Memorial Park on Monday, November 11, 2024. The program will feature a ceremonial procession of colors, inspiring speeches from guest speakers, and an array of patriotic music. Attendees will witness a community coming together to honor the dedication and sacrifices of veterans who have protected the nation's freedoms.

The event is generously supported by Palm Beach County Senior & Veteran Services, along with sponsors Grimes Events and Party Tents, and Professional Concessions Inc. This celebration of valor and service is coordinated by the dedicated efforts of VFW Post 10556 and the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department's Special Events Section.

Wellington Veterans Day Parade 8:15 a.m., ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Wellington Veterans Memorial, 11848 Forest Hill Blvd.

Wellington and the American Legion Post 390 will be honoring all current and former members of the armed forces. Veterans are invited to walk in the parade beginning at 8:15 a.m. at Wellington's Village Hall, 12300 Forest Hill Blvd. The parade ends at Wellington's Veterans Memorial, on the corner of Forest Hill Boulevard and South Shore Boulevard, and will be followed at 8:30 a.m. by the Veterans Day Ceremony with remarks by Wellington's Council and the placement of memorial wreaths.
