olo. (WGN) — Former Chicago Cub and National League Most Valuable Player Kris Bryant recently fell victim to a multi-state vehicle theft ring, according to the Denver Gazette. The Gazette reported Bryant paid a company to transport his $300,000 Lamborghini Huracan from Colorado to his home in Las Vegas, but it never arrived. A police investigation found hackers had infiltrated the transport company Bryant used and re-routed the car to a different home in Las Vegas. Using license plate tracking technology, Cherry Hill Village police traced the transport truck to Las Vegas, where they teamed up with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations to recover the stolen Lamborghini on Oct. 7. Reports: Kyle Hendricks signs with Angels LVMPD officers then spotted the Lamborghini, a gray 2023 Huracan Coupe Tecnica, confirmed the vehicle's VIN number, and apprehended the involved suspect. After taking the suspect into custody, 58-year-old Dat Viet Tieu police said they found evidence of a larger luxury car-theft ring, which included a stolen Rolls Royce Cullinan and a 2024 GMC Yukon Denali. Bryant played for the Cubs from 2015 to 2021, where he was one of the franchises cornerstone positional players that helped them win the 2016 World Series. Bryant won NL MVP that season, and recorded the final out that ended a 107-year championship drought for the North Siders. The full with more details can be found at this link. The Colorado Rockies and Bryant's agent, Scott Boras, have yet to respond to the Denver Gazette's request for comment.
