Robert Jweinat still has edge over Vasanth Shetty in San Ramon District 1 council race

obert Jweinat led Vasanth Shetty by 142 votes in their race for San Ramon's District 1 City Council seat., according to the latest tally released by the Contra Costa County Elections Office. Jweinat had 50.87% of the vote (4.144 votes) to Shetty's 49.13% (4.002 votes) on Friday.
The results are still unofficial.
Both candidates are vying for longtime councilmember Scott Perkins' seat, after Perkins stepped down following five terms.
District 3 City Councilmember Sridhar Verose is running unopposed this year.
In the mayoral race, Mark Armstrong still had a commanding lead over Chirag Kathrani. Armstrong had 69.58% of the vote (24,387 votes) over Kathrani's 30.42% (10,622 votes).
Armstrong will likely replace Dave Hudson, the current mayor and longtime councilmember who is retiring. Armstrong is a former FEMA official and U.S. Army colonel who filled in for Hudson when the mayor had a stroke in 2023.
