San Fernando Valley home-invasion suspects tracked to Compton

K.Thompson3 days ago

At least two people were detained after police responding to a home-invasion robbery in the San Fernando Valley tracked the suspect vehicle to a residence in Compton.

The break-in was reported Monday night at a home on Greenleaf Street in Sherman Oaks.

Investigators said a woman was still inside the home when at least two armed suspects broke in.

The woman was not believed to be physically harmed in the incident.

There was no immediate word on what, if anything, was taken during the break-in.

A black car that was said to be involved in the break-in was tracked by officers back to a home in Compton.

Three people got out and ran after abandoning the car on 152nd Sreet.

Aerial video from Sky5 showed the suspects running as officers arrived.

Police said at least two people were taken into custody. Video showed two possible suspects sitting on a sidewalk with their arms behind their backs.

At one point, an officer was seen reaching under the suspect vehicle to retrieve what appeared to be a tracking device.

It was unclear if officers were still searching for a third suspect but police were still at the scene investigating Tuesday morning.
