SC Primate Escape: 3 more monkeys recovered, 8 unaccounted for

YEMASSEE, S.C. (WSAV) – Three more monkeys have been recovered in Yemassee and are reported to be in good health. According to the Yemassee Police Department, the monkeys were found around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This latest recovery brings the total number returned to 35. The number of currently missing monkeys is now at eight. The public is asked to continue avoiding the area as recovery efforts are ongoing. This is a developing story. A noon deadline passed Wednesday for Casey to waive his right to a statewide recount and Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro's top election official, Secretary of State Al Schmidt, a Republican, announced that preliminary results had triggered a legally required statewide recount.
