Search Continues For 2 Newark Residents Missing For More Than 1 Year Newark police say two separate missing person cases remain open in the city. They involve a teenage girl and a 59-year-old man.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police say two separate missing person cases remain open in the city – and authorities are asking for the public's help finding them.

The Newark Department of Public Safety released updates about the missing residents on Tuesday, Sept. 24, noting that the search continues for Aaliyah Bryant, 17, and Maurice Mccullers, 59.

Authorities said anyone with information can call the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division's website .

MISSING TEEN

Aaliyah Bryant, 17, of Newark, was reported missing on Aug. 30, 2023.

Police said Bryant – who has run away from home in the past – was last seen on Aug. 29, 2023, on the 100-block of Chancellor Avenue.

She was wearing a long white t-shirt and black leggings, and carrying a cross-body bag. She is 5 feet 3 inches and 300 pounds, and has a light-brown skin complexion and blonde hair. She also has a silver nose piercing and has been diagnosed with Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

MISSING MAN

Maurice Mccullers, 59, of Newark, was reported missing on Aug. 21, 2023.

Mccullers was last seen at 1:12 p.m. leaving 20 Frontage Road. He is an African-American male, who is 6 feet and 200 pounds with brown eyes. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants and black sneakers.

Police released a surveillance photo of Mccullers taken before his disappearance (see below).
