It looks like sports bettors called People's "Sexiest Man Alive" wrong , as native Texan Glen Powell lost the crown to actor John Krasinski. But "The Office" actor shouted out another Texas legend for helping him secure the win: Matthew McConaughey.

Similar to years past, Stephen Colbert announced the winner of the illustrious title on "The Late Show," where Krasinski joined him.

  • When the host jokingly asked Krasinski if he thought McConaughey was dead when he got the call about being People's "Sexiest Man Alive," implying that was the only way the "adorable" actor could beat the "Dallas Buyers Club" star for the title, the "Jack Ryan" star had the perfect response lined up.

"I just drink sweat on Tuesdays," Krasinski jokingly told Colbert of McConaughey's role in landing him the coveted crown. In People's cover story , the actor said he experienced an "immediate blackout" and thought he was being punked when he found out he was crowned People's 2024 "Sexiest Man Alive."

Fans of Powell and the sports bettors who were sure he'd win likely feel the "Hit Man" actor was snubbed. But, to be fair, the median age of winners is 40 years old.
