In a new interview, she revealed how Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri Khan was "concerned" about her participating on the show. However, after watching her, she called her up. Shalini shared that the most special response came from Gauri Khan, who called her while she was in Bombay before Manish Malhotra's Diwali party. Gauri expressed how impressed she was and told Shalini that she was incredible on it. "She was genuinely concerned for me, and when she told me how much she loved the show, it really touched my heart. Gauri knows me better than most, so hearing that from her was very special," she told News 18.

For the unversed, Gauri Khan and Shalini Passi share a bond that is very old. Earlier, the art collector had revealed that Gauri and her were neighbours in Delhi. Furthermore, their bond became stronger as both of their husbands studied together at Hansraj College of Delhi University. "My son and Aryan also went to university together. We are very close; they are like family to us," she told India Today.
