Shooting between two groups leaves teen injured in Montgomery Village

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) said a shooting between two groups left a 17-year-old injured in Montgomery Village.

At about 5:40 p.m., police were dispatched to South Valley Park in the 19000 block of Watkins Mill Road for the report of a shooting.

Police said a shooting took place between two groups of people.

A 17-year-old boy was hit by a bullet and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Bullets also struck vehicles.

Police said this is an active and ongoing investigation.

There is no suspect in custody at this time and police believe this is an isolated incident.
