Shooting near bar in Central Gardens leaves 1 dead

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead after a shooting overnight near a bar in Central Gardens.
Memphis Police say they responded to the shooting call five minutes after 1 a.m. in the 300 block of South Cleveland Street.
A man was pronounced dead on the scene. Police say the suspect fled the area on foot.
MPD says the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal altercation before the shooting.
WREG crews also saw three crime scene vans arrive at the bar during the investigation.
