Shoulder restrictions expected next week on John Harris Memorial Bridge
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that there will be a daytime shoulder restriction on the John Harris Memorial Bridge next week.
According to PennDOT, there will be daytime shoulder restrictions next week on the southbound Interstate 83 John Harris Memorial (South) Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River between Cumberland and Dauphin counties.
Weather permitting, the work will be performed on Monday, November 11 through Friday, November 15.
PennDOT says the southbound I-83 right shoulder will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on all days. Three travel lanes in each direction and all on/off ramp lanes will remain open each of the days.
The restriction will be in place so an inspection can be performed. Inspectors plan to inspect the South Bridge using an inspection crane from the roadway.
Travelers are reminded to be alert, obey work zone signs, and use caution while driving through the work zones.
