Sioux City man accused of sexually assaulting a minor

NORFOLK, Neb (KTIV) - A Sioux City man has been jailed for sexually assaulting a minor According to a press release from Norfolk Police, 36-year-old David Davis of Sioux City has been arrested for first-degree sexual assault of a minor as well as resisting arrest. On the evening of Thursday, Nov. 14, Norfolk Police say they took a sexual assault report from a 14-year-old girl. The girl described, in detail, to a Norfolk Police officer that on Wednesday, Nov. 13 she was forced to have sexual contact with Davis. The press release indicates that someone contacted Davis by phone and he agreed to meet the victim at a designated location. During the conversation, Davis made comments referring to the sexual assault of the 14-year-old girl. A detective rode along to the meeting location with the person who contacted Davis. When Davis arrived at the agreed location, the detective exited the vehicle. As soon as Davis saw the detective, he turned and began to run away. Marked Police units surrounded the area and took Davis into custody. Davis was initially housed in the Norfolk City Jail but was later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
