Sioux City man sentenced for taking money from victim to buy alcohol

SIOUX CITY, Iowa ( KCAU ) — A Sioux City man who was arrested for stealing money from someone to buy alcohol has been sentenced. According to court documents, Malik Lacey, 21, was sentenced to 180 days in jail and must pay $855 plus a 15 percent surcharge in fines for assault with a dangerous weapon. He was further given credit for time served from his arrest on Sept. 14. Norfolk man pleads guilty to arson Lacey was initially charged with first-degree robbery after taking money from a man to buy alcohol . The victim tried to confront Lacey as he left the store, but Lacey displayed a knife and threatened to stab the victim before leaving the scene. Lacey took a plea agreement that resulted in the robbery charge being amended to assault with a dangerous weapon.
