Goodfield's Busy Corner temporarily closed following Wednesday morning fire

GOODFIELD — The Busy Corner restaurant, 302 S. Eureka St. in Goodfield, is temporarily closed for repairs and restoration as a result of an early Wednesday morning fire.

The Eureka-Goodfield Fire Department told The Pantagraph they responded to the fire at approximately 3:55 a.m. The Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal, Woodford County Sheriff and the Eureka Fire District are investigating the incident.

Busy Corner wrote on its Facebook page, "Thankfully, no staff was there at this time. The fire was quickly contained by local firefighters, but the restaurant sustained damages that will require immediate attention."

The post continued, "Our team is working diligently to assess the full extent of the repairs needed and will share updates regarding our reopening timeline as soon as possible. We want to express our gratitude to the first responders. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Busy Corner Restaurant soon and appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to get back up and running."

The post also said the restaurant will continue to provide updates through its Facebook page.
