Sophie M. Novabilski

Sophie M. Novabilski, 89, of Port Griffith, died February 20, 2010, at the Berwick Retirement Village Nursing Home, Berwick.
Born on May 12, 1920, in Jenkins Township, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Zofia Kovalcik Novabilski. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Consolidated Cigar Company and also in the garment industry. She was a member of the ILGWU.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers William, Francis and Joseph, and sisters Mary and Julia.
She is survived by her sisters Theresa Kalazavich, Pittston, and Margaret Piskorik, Pringle; and brother Bernard, Old Forge; nieces and nephews.
Funeral was Feb. 25 from the Bednarski Funeral Home, Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Interment St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.
