St. Petersburg Fire Rescue Responds to Early Morning House Fire

St. Petersburg, FL – September 24, 2024 – St. Petersburg Fire Rescue (SPFR) responded to a residential fire early Tuesday morning on the 4600 block of Laurel Oak Ln NE. Multiple 911 calls were received around 5:30 a.m., reporting heavy smoke and flames from the single-story home.

Upon arrival, SPFR crews found the residence fully engulfed in flames. The homeowner, who was asleep at the time, reported hearing the fire and smelling smoke. He safely evacuated and confirmed no one else was inside.

Firefighters began an aggressive attack on the fire, focusing on the side of the structure. They faced intense smoke and flames, particularly in the attic. Aerial operations were deployed to help contain the blaze.

Duke Energy was notified to address any electrical concerns, and the Red Cross is assisting the displaced homeowner. The fire was extinguished, and the cause remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
