SALEM, MA — Those who rely on Salem Ferry service to get from the North Shore to Boston for work were forced to find an alternative commute for the third straight weekday on Tuesday after rough seas canceled all travel routes.

  • High Surf Alert, Ferries Canceled After Nearly 12 Inches Of Rain In MA
  • City officials said rough waters in the wake of a weekend storm from Marblehead to Boston's North Channel forced the cancellation of all ferry service.

While the storm departed early Sunday, the ocean is still riled up with Rip Current Warnings in effect across most of the coast of Massachusetts and a Small Craft Advisory in effect offshore, according to the National Weather Service.
