State awards clean energy grants to western Mass. communities

BOSTON (WWLP) – In an effort to support long-term clean energy climate impact goals, the state has awarded $1.75 million in Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) competitive subgrants to 45 cities and towns across the state.

The grant program supports multiple projects including community-based and project-based clean energy planning, clean energy community campaigns, energy manager seed funding, building decarbonization engineering and design, and building envelope improvements.

MassHealth, SNAP recipients to receive discounted utility bills

Several communities in western Massachusetts will be receiving funding. One of the regional energy managers is a partnership with the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission working with 15 communities in Hampden and Hampshire counties.
