Stolen gun recovered 7 years later during Mt. Juliet traffic stop
MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — A gun that was stolen more than seven years ago has been recovered following a traffic stop in Mt. Juliet.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department said officers stopped a vehicle for speeding along Pleasant Grove Road on Thursday, Nov. 7, which led to the discovery of a stolen handgun.

Officials added that the handgun was reported stolen in Lewisburg more than seven years ago.
Police reported that the 35-year-old Nashville man in possession of the gun was a convicted felon and "wanted out of Nashville for failing to be booked on a previous driving on revoked drivers license offense."

The arrest comes more than a week after MJPD officers made two traffic stops, which both resulted in arrests and the recovery of guns that had been stolen from the Nashville area.
Deputy Chief Tyler Chandler previously told News 2 that MJPD officers have recovered 46 guns that were involved in criminal activity in the past six months.
