SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield substitute teacher has been disciplined after she allegedly allowed a fight between two students in a classroom and recorded the incident.

Springfield Public Schools spokesperson Azell Cavaan told 22News the incident occurred at the Springfield Renaissance School. Cavaan confirmed the substitute was alleged to have moved desks and set a timer allowing the two female students to fight. She also allegedly recorded the fight herself.

"Immediate action was taken as this behavior is completely unacceptable," Cavaan said.

The name of the substitute teacher, as well as the specific disciplinary action taken against her was not released. Cavaan added, however, that disciplinary action ranges up to termination of employment.
