‘Sunday Night Football’ 2nd half open thread: Ravens at Chargers
R.Anderson3 months ago
Are you ready for a second dose of “Sunday Night Football” in Week 12? After closing out Thanksgiving Day, “Sunday Night Football” returns to its regularly schedule day. Whereas the Thanksgiving nightcap was a rout by the San Francisco 49ers , hopefully tonight’s edition is more competitive. And with two top-offenses, we could certainly see it. The Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers boast the fourth and eighth overall offenses in the NFL, respectively. They are each headlined by two young stars at quarterback in Lamar Jackson and Justin Herbert. Yet both quarterbacks have had injury issues with their supporting cast. Mike Williams and Joshua Palmer are on the Injured Reserve for the Chargers, while the Ravens just lost tight end Mark Andrews for an extensive period. Defense could be the name of the game tonight, but the Ravens and Chargers are drastically different in that regard. The Ravens are second in defensive DVOA including single-digit smotherings of the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks . The Chargers, meanwhile, are a dreadful 29th in defensive DVOA. Their previous two games featured 41 points allowed to the Lions and classic Chargers blown lead against the Green Bay Packers . The Chargers will need to stay out of their own way if they want to beat Baltimore. Will the Ravens silence the Chargers? Can the Chargers defense put up any resistance against Lamar Jackson? Here’s how to watch tonight’s game:Date: Sunday, November 26, 2023
