Suspect in slaying of sisters at Farmers Branch home in custody at Dallas County jail

A man accused in the double homicide of two sisters inside a Farmers Branch home the day after Thanksgiving was booked into the Dallas County jail Monday, records show.

Jose Chairez, 50, faces a charge of capital murder of multiple persons. He was given a more than $2 million bond on the charges he is facing in the killings but also has an immigration hold that will prevent him from being released, according to the jail log.

Officers responded about 4:45 a.m. Nov. 24 to a home in the 13200 block of Castleton Place and found the bodies of sisters Catalina Valdez Andrade, 47, and Merced Andrade Bailon, 43. The elder sister resided at the home, according to public records.

Police have not released many details in the investigation, including the manner of death or a possible motive.

It was not immediately clear how Chairez knew the victims but he is also facing a charge of aggravated assault causing bodily injury that specifies the victim and suspect were connected by a dating relationship, familial relation or were living together, according to jail records.

A Farmers Branch police spokesperson previously told , a suspect in the case was taken into custody and arrested the same day as the killings. The department confirmed Thursday that Chairez is the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
