Teacher at California high school arrested for assaulting student during campus altercation
A Menifee teacher was arrested on suspicion of child abuse following a report made to a Heritage High School school resource officer on the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The teacher, 54-year-old Stacey MacPherson, was arrested on suspicion of physically assaulting a student on the high school's campus.
MacPherson and the student were involved in a physical altercation, during which the student sustained a minor injury that did not require medical attention, according to a news release from the Menifee Police Department.
As a result of the incident, MacPherson was placed on administrative leave.
No further information was released by the Menifee Police Department. A request for comment was placed with the Perris Union High School District, the district that Heritage High School is a part of.
