PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Tempe Police Department is expected to provide new details after shots were fired inside the food court of Arizona Mills Mall last week.

Several people called 911 around 7:30 p.m. Friday to report shots fired which forced the building to be evacuated and caused panic among mallgoers.

Video from Arizona's Family news chopper showed a heavy law enforcement presence as police officers and the Maricopa County sheriff deputies swarmed the mall and conducted multiple sweeps.

Authorities later confirmed that the shooting wasn't the result of an active shooter and that no one was injured.

"I was just like scared. I saw people running so I was freaked out. I didn't know what was going on, so I just like hid back there," one teen told Arizona's Family.

After the shooting, Tempe police urged witnesses to call the department to provide tips.

Still, many questions remained about what led up to the shooting and why police have release little information about what exactly happened that night.

A news conference is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at a Tempe Police substation, which will be streamed in the live player above.
