Texas Fugitive Who Shot a Cop Still Remains on the Loose

"Have you seen this man?"

That is what the Texas Department of Public Safety has been asking for two weeks. They even offer a $10,000 reward for his capture, but why?

According to Texas DPS , at 11 in the afternoon on October 3rd, the Memphis Police Chief, along with other officers, were dispatched to a residence to arrest Seth Altman for burglary.

Altman is accused of shooting the police chief multiple times before fleeing on foot from the scene. The following day, the 4th, a warrant was issued for Altman's arrest out of Hall County on charges of attempted capital murder of a peace officer.

Officials warn the public that Altman should be considered armed and dangerous, and contact with him is not advised.

The FBI , in efforts to gather community assistance, is actually offering an additional $5,000 reward for any information leading to Altman's arrest.

Governor Greg Abbott announced the original $10,000 reward after hearing about the incident. "Texas is first and foremost a law-and-order state," Abbott included. He addressed that law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to keep us citizens safe, and "they deserve to know that they have the full support of the State of Texas."
