The Best Things to Eat and Drink at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Disney World
B.James1 hr ago
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is one of the year's highlights at Walt Disney World in Orlando. The after-hours party at Magic Kingdom Park kicks off the festive fun on November 8 and runs on select nights all the way through December 20. Along with the exciting entertainment, like Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas Parade and Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show, all of your favorite Disney friends will be dressed to the nines in adorable holiday outfits, and it snows right there on Main Street, U.S.A. But for foodies like us, a big part of the holly jolly party is the food. According to a Disney Parks Blog post: "This year, your taste buds are about to be in a winter wonderland (of flavor). With over 30 new items, like the Gingerbread Milk Shake, Festive Beignets, and Lasagna Flatbread, and returning favorites, including the Candy Cane Tart and Christmas Cookie Cake Roll, the culinary teams have definitely earned their spots on the nice list with this yuletide selection of treats." With all of the incredible dining opportunities at the party, you may need more than one night to try every single dish. But if you're only planning on going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for one night, these are the dishes you must try. Even better, we've divided our guide by the park's land so you can easily find where each dish is once you're in the park. Sweet treats down Main Street, U.S.A. You must first try the Letter to Santa flourless chocolate cake at the Main Street Bakery (aka, Starbucks). The adorable mailbox-shaped cake is filled with hot cocoa mousse, marshmallows, and topped with cute chocolate pieces. Down Main Street a little further is the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, where a Peppermint Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich waits for you. The iconic ice cream sandwich gets a holiday glow-up with peppermint ice cream between two oatmeal-peppermint chip cookies, and then the exposed ice cream is rolled in candy cane pieces. Over at Casey's Corner, you'll find a Thanksgiving-themed hot dog, called the Holiday Dinner Hot Dog. The all-beef dog is topped with turkey, gravy, fried onions, and cranberry sauce, just like all of the best post-Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches are. The classic Thanksgiving toppings can also be put on top of French fries, aptly named Holiday Dinner Loaded French Fries. Holly Jolly eats in Adventureland Disney fans, us included, can't get enough of the iconic POG, pineapple-orange-guava, juice that is served around Walt Disney World. Over at Aloha Isle in Adventure Land, you can have a Holiday Pineapple-Orange-Guava Juice Float made with coconut soft serve and garnished with a spiced pineapple tree pop. Just know that this is only available until 11:00 p.m. on party nights, so head here early in the evening to get this. For something more hearty, head to Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe for the Cheese and Chile Tamale, which is served "Christmas-style" with mixed red chile and green chile-pumpkin seed sauces, citrus-chipotle chicken, rice, beans, and queso fresco. Wash the tamale down with a slightly sweet Salted Caramel Horchata. Just know that both are only available until 11:00 p.m. on party nights. Merry munchies at Liberty Square Sleepy Hollow is a fan-favorite spot at Magic Kingdom, regardless of whether it's a normal park day or an after-hours party. During Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the small quick service stand dishes out everything from orange-soy glazed chicken tenders to Brownie Peppermint Bark. But the real star of the Christmas party menu is the Holiday Red Velvet Waffle Sundae. The Mickey-shaped red velvet waffle is topped with peppermint ice cream, hot fudge, and M&M's Milk Chocolate Candies, which works together well for a few sweet bites to share with family or friends. Festive food around Fantasyland Pinocchio Village Haus is always a busy spot, and at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, it's sure to be filled with people trying the two new party-exclusive flatbreads. The first is a Baked Brie Flatbread topped with Brie cheese spread, mango chutney, green apples, arugula, almonds, and a honey drizzle. I'm most excited to try the Lasagna Flatbread, which is loaded with Italian sausage, meatballs, a five-cheese blend, ricotta cheese, and pesto. To get these two savory dishes, you'll need to order before 9:30 since that's when Pinocchio Village Haus stops serving food in the evening. Over at Storybook Treats, you'll find the Sugar Plum-Vanilla Soft-Serve Sundae. The swirled ice cream is dipped in celebration cake cone dip and topped with marshmallows and almonds. Good tidings in Tomorrowland After a load of sweets, you'll likely want something savory to calm down that sugar rush. For a much-needed sustenance break head to Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café. Here you'll find the Holiday Pot Roast Melt, a sharable sandwich made with slow-cooked roast beef on thick toast with cheddar and provolone cheeses and beef gravy. And to ensure you can stay awake until Santa makes his way down Main Street, U.S.A. head to Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies for a pick-me-up coffee. The Cherry Cordial Cold Brew is Joffrey's Cold Brew topped with cherry whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and chocolate curls. Free cookies and cocoa for all the good kids
