This tiny lakefront home got big interest and sold for 20% over asking price

At 824 square feet, this tiny house is the size of an apartment but it's location gives it big personality.

It sits on Lower Mount Glen Lake in West Milford and recently attracted a lot of attention when it was listed for sale.

The one-bedroom home was listed for $279,900 and got eight offers. It closed for $325,000 – thats 20% more than its asking price.

"A move-in ready lake house for under $300,000 is very rare, unless it needs a lot of work," said Jennifer Ellis of Coldwell Banker Realty, who specializes in lake homes. "The one bedroom kept the price low."

The home has an open floor plan, a kitchen with a lake view and attached lakefront deck, a living room with a stone wood-burning fireplace, an office, a bathroom with an updated shower and a 9-foot by 11-foot bedroom with a walk-in closet.

Lower Mount Glen Lake is about 15 square acres. It's ideal for kayaking, fishing and swimming, Ellis said. The community has a beach with volleyball courts and a playground. It's also close to Norvin Green State Forest and Route 23.
