Three teens charged after residential burglary in Coventry

COVENTRY — Coventry Police charged three juveniles after investigating a residential burglary reported on November 1.

The burglary occurred at a vacant property on Woodland Road. When the homeowners returned, they found signs of forced entry and evidence suggesting someone had spent a significant amount of time in the house.

After reviewing the home's surveillance video, officers identified the individuals involved by their appearances and because they referred to each other by name during the footage. The three juveniles, aged 15, 16 and 17, were charged in connection with the incident and referred to the Superior Court for Juvenile Matters in Willimantic.

They were all charged with burglary, first degree, criminal mischief, first degree, criminal trespass, second degree, and larceny, sixth degree. The 17-year-old suspect had an additional charge of possession of alcohol by a minor.
