Thursday's Weather: Partly to mostly cloudy with a few showers possible

EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - The sunshine was appreciated yesterday, but don't expect to see clear skies today as clouds have moved back overhead for our Thursday. This morning we're waking up to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures in the upper 50s and lower to middle 60s. Dense fog will be possible at times this AM, so as usual you will want to be a bit more careful on your morning commute. While we may see some sunshine later this afternoon, expect skies to trend partly to mostly cloudy throughout the bulk of the day with the chance for some scattered light showers. Temperatures will trend above average this afternoon in the 70s, with a few southern zones potentially reaching 80°. Expect clouds to remain over East Texas on Friday along with a better chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially later in the day, meaning some high school football games could be impacted by heavy rains and lightning. Friday's rain will be driven by a weak cold front which will likely push through East Texas Friday night into Saturday morning. Some rain could persist into late Saturday morning/early afternoon. Our weekend cold front will likely stall just to our east, along the Texas/Louisiana state line which would lead to more scattered shower and t'storm chances into our Sunday as well. Next Monday is Veteran's Day and thankfully the forecast looks fairly dry but warm at this time.
