SHAVERTOWN: The First Friday Group of the Knights of Columbus Assumpta Council 3987 will attend the 9 a.m. Mass today at St. Therese Church, Davis Street. Rosary recitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast will take place at Leggio’s Restaurant, Dallas. Reservations can be made with Chet Daniels at 570-696-2096.

WILKES-BARRE: The Wilkes University Polish Room Committee recently held its fourth annual Wigilia dinner at the Frank and Dorothea Henry Student Center on the Wilkes University campus.

Audrey Brozena lit the Advent candle and Fran Macy read a Christmas prayer. Traditional Polish Wigilia foods were sampled and oplatek was shared and Geraldine T. Gulbish lead the Wigilia dinner guests in singing Kolendy and Christmas carols. Sleigh centerpieces were on each table. They were won by Mary Ann Krokos, Dolores Bigus, Genevieve Witkowski, Florence Krulack, Marianne Kress, Fran Macy and Florence Sowa.

Members of the Wigilia Committee were Audrey Brozena, chairperson; Susan Najaka and Mary Lou Zaleski, decorations; Fran Macy and Marie Voitek, reservations; and Joyce Latoski, publicity.
