PITTSTON — Entertainment 2007 books are now being offered by Meals on Wheels of Greater Pittston. Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers two meals per day to elderly and homebound individuals in the Greater Pittston Area.
Entertainment books cost $25 and can be purchased at Meals on Wheels, 59 South Main St., Pittston, or Modern Market, 1179 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, during regular business hours or by contacting Meals on Wheels at 655-0135.

SCRANTON — The Scranton State School for the Deaf will begin fall 2006 Community Sign Language classes during the week of Oct. 23. The beginner class will take place on Monday evenings from 6 until 8:30 p.m. starting on Oct. 23 and end on Dec. 11. For those unable to attend evening classes, a beginner class will take place from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. starting on Oct. 23 and ends Dec. 11.
The intermediate and advanced classes will be offered on Monday evenings from 6 until 8:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 23 and end Dec. 11.
Phone registration for all classes will take place from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Friday. To register by phone, call the school at 963-4546. There is a $40 tuition fee per person.

WILKES-BARRE — The Osterhout Free Library is offering a free English as a second language training course. During this course participants will be taught words and expressions used in daily situations to promote proficiency at a conversational level.

WYOMING — Recycling collection for Wyoming Borough will be Thursdays. Newspapers and commingled recyclables will alternate weeks for pick up. Commingled items will be collected on Oct. 19 and newspapers will be collected on Oct. 26.
