E.Chen14 hr ago
We continue to track Hurricane Beryl as it will be impacting the Yucatan Peninsula overnight through early Friday morning

Winds are currently at 115 mph and it is moving WNW at 16 mph towards Cozumel and Cancun as we head into early Friday morning.

A hurricane warning is in effect for the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula including Cozumel and Cancun

A tropical storm watch is in effect for Belize

Beryl is expected to stay a category 2 hurricane as it approaches the coast of Mexico and then will weaken as it moves over land

Beryl will bring widespread rainfall totals of 4 - 6" with localized amounts up to 10 inches. Flash flooding will be possible as well as a dangerous storm surge from Beryl that could raise water levels by as much as 3 - 5 feet above ground level

After moving across the Yucatan, Beryl will make its way into the Bay of Campeche, where it makes a second landfall near Brownsville, Texas.

Behind Beryl, we're also watching a tropical wave, Invest 96. This one has a low chance of developing.
