Traffic alerts for this week

(WKBN) — Some traffic alerts to pass on this week:

Starting Monday, the East Washington Street Bridge replacement will begin in New Castle. At 6 a.m., the structure that carries East Washington Street over the Neshannock Creek — between East Street and Croton Avenue — will close through June of 2027.

For the north detour of the bridge, take East Washington Street to North Jefferson Street. Turn left onto Jefferson Street. Turn left onto Grove Avenue. Grove Avenue becomes Grove Street. Bear right onto Neal Street. Neal Street becomes Shadyside Street. Bear left onto Taylor Street. Follow Taylor Street to East Washington Street (Route 65).

For the south detour of the bridge, take East Washington Street (Route 65) south. Turn right onto Taylor Street. Taylor Street becomes Shadyside Street. Slight left as Shadyside Street becomes Neal Street. Neal Street becomes Grove Street. Grove Street becomes Grove Avenue. Turn right onto Jefferson Street. Turn right onto East Washington Street.

Also starting Monday, there will be a lane restriction on Mill Bridge Road in Slippery Rock Township. This is for utility replacement work.

Single-lane alternating traffic will occur between Princeton Road and Firehall Road. This will be in effect on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through late December.
