Trump shifts focus toward transition after completing political comeback

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Gray Media) - Donald Trump is president-Elect after what appears to have been a huge election night for Republicans. Trump is shifting his focus to his presidential transition for a second term. In the early hours of Wednesday morning, Donald Trump took the stage at the Palm Beach County Convention Center to declare victory in front of hundreds of supporters alongside friends, family, and political allies.

Republicans now have a clear mandate and will seek to push through a conservative agenda. Trump pledged prosperity, safety, and unity in his victory speech Wednesday, but after a divisive campaign with consistently harsh rhetoric from the President-elect, questions over how realistic unity is, remain.

"He's a great campaigner and he will fight you," said forme Senator David Perdue (R-GA), a Trump surrogate. "At the same time, he's also now a second term president. And I think, you know, when you look at somebody at that level, they're talking about legacy. And that's sort of thing. But I think since the assassination attempts, I will tell you personally, I know this man, I know his heart. He's changed a little bit. I think this humbled him."

Some states still have to tabulate significant chunks of votes and the election will not officially be certified by Congress until January 6. Until Inauguration Day, South Florida, will be the center of the political universe for the next two and a half months as Trump gears up for another term.
