Trump vowed to roll back regulations targeting climate change. How will the Great Lakes fare?

WASHINGTON, D.C. - As Republican co-chair of the House Great Lakes Task Force, U.S. Rep. Dave Joyce was disappointed by budget proposals Donald Trump introduced in his first presidential term that called for cutting funds for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.

But the South Russell Republican says Trump gradually became a Great Lakes supporter as he learned more about the program during his four years as president. He expects Trump's backing for Great Lakes cleanup efforts will continue over the next four years, even as Trump tries to make good on his campaign pledges to roll back Environmental Protection Agency rules and regulations intended to fight climate change.
