NEED TO KNOW Trump wins election to become 47th president

Donald Trump clinched a victory against Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential race and will become the 47th president of the United States.

Trump's win: The Associated Press called the race this morning after Trump won Wisconsin to surpass the required 270 electoral votes. He will become only the second president in U.S. history to serve a nonconsecutive term. [Yahoo News]

Victory speech: Trump gave a speech overnight after winning the swing state of Pennsylvania. "I will not rest until we deliver the strong, safe and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve," he said. Harris is expected to speak later today. [USA Today]

Balance of power: The election also resulted in Republicans taking control of the Senate. Republicans are still fighting to maintain control of the House of Representatives, where vote counts are ongoing. A win there would set the course for Trump's agenda. [AP]

Abortion initiatives

Seven states, including New York, Arizona and Missouri, passed ballot measures preserving or expanding abortion rights. High-profile efforts in Florida, Nebraska and South Dakota failed. [AP]

...about reality TV this fall

Fall is prime reality TV season. I asked Laura Bradley, who writes the In Reality newsletter , about the highlights across some of the most popular shows.

Lily: It's been a particularly competitive season of Dancing With the Stars. Do you have a favorite routine so far?

Laura: I'm a huge hair metal fan and have a total crush on former Bachelor (and best Bachelor ever) Joey Graziadei, so naturally, I absolutely ate up the sight of him in that big, fluffy wig for his "Rock You Like a Hurricane" tango .

Lily: The Voice introduced a new Coach Replay button this season. How did it work out?

Laura: It worked great for Kendall Eugene! After no one turned their chairs around for his audition, Reba McEntire gave him a chance , and so far, he's still in the mix. Sadly, the other Replay saves all went home during Battles.

Lily: Several Real Housewives franchises are airing simultaneously this fall. If I can only watch one, which should it be?

Laura: Orange County was my first, so I'm biased, but this season delivered. I'm dying to see the fallout from Jenn Pedranti's fiancé's alleged gambling scandal next season. Tamra Judge is gonna gloat for months.
