Two arrested in Henry County drug bust
Two people were arrested after a narcotics search warrant was executed in Henry County on Thursday.
Deputies arrived around 11 a.m. at 50 Foxtree Tree Drive, Apartment 22 and seized suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine in what they say was an illegal distribution of drugs operation.
At the residence, Trey Michael Severt, 34, and Cheree Nicole Dalton, 34, were both arrested with possession with intent to sell schedule I/II drugs. Dalton was also charged with outstanding warrants of failure to appear in the city of Martinsville and a probation violation in Franklin County.
Severt was jailed in the Henry County Adult Detention Center and Dalton was jailed in the Martinsville City Jail, both under no bond.
Severt was on probation for possession of stolen goods, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
"I'd like to thank the community for the great relationship that we've built with them — for them feeling comfortable enough to come forward with information to share with us to make these types of operations possible," said Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis. "We did receive a tremendous amount of complaints about this residence, so we initiated an investigation which ultimately led to the issuance of a search warrant."
Davis said Severt has just recently been released from prison on past drug charges.
"He's only been out of prison a matter of months after serving a multiyear prison sentence for the distribution of narcotics," Davis said. "As I told him this morning, he obviously didn't learn his lesson, so we'll send him back to try again."
