Two boys charged with theft of three bikes from homes: Lyndhurst police blotter

Theft: Blanchester Road

At 4:35 p.m. Nov. 3, police received reports of three bicycles being stolen at three locations.

A bike stolen from a home on Brainard Road was found at a home on Haverston Road. A bike stolen from a Haverston Road address was found at a Blanchester Road home.

The young thieves then stole a bike from the Blanchester home. This time, however, the two boys were seen riding east on Ridgebury Boulevard.

Officers found and stopped the boys on Ridgebury and brought them to the police station.

One, a 14-year-old Lyndhurst boy, was charged with theft and resisting arrest.

The other suspect, 10, also of Lyndhurst, was charged with theft.

The bike stolen from Blanchester was returned to its owner.

Disturbance: Lynd Avenue

At 10:15 p.m. Nov. 2, police received a report that an intoxicated 26-year-old man was threatening the person who called police.

Officers learned that no weapons were involved and separated the two parties for the evening.

The man was not charged.

Disturbance: South Sedgewick Road

At 12:55 a.m. Nov. 2, a resident called police to report that a drunk woman was knocking on their home's door.

Officers took the 31-year-old intoxicated woman to the police station to await a ride home. She was not charged.

Suspicious mail: Willshire Road

At 4:20 p.m. Oct. 28, a woman reported receiving a package delivered to her home that contained a screen. The woman told police that when she touched the screen, her arm and hand began to tingle.

The package had on it the woman's address, but no name. Police believe it was likely sent to to the wrong address.

An officer collected the package and disposed of it.

Overdose: South Sedgewick Road

At 12:35 a.m. Oct. 28, a man reported that his mother may have overdosed on her medication. The man was not calling from his mother's house.

Officers went to the mother's house and, from outside the door, heard a very loud TV. There was no answer when officers knocked on the door.

Police could see through a window the woman, unconscious, on a couch.

Police kicked in the door and called for medical help for the unresponsive woman. Also in the house was her grandchild, 11.

EMS transported the woman to Hillcrest Hospital. The police report does not state the woman's condition after her arrival at the hospital.

Drug abuse: Richmond Road

At 12:45 a.m. Oct. 29, an officer stopped a car due to a traffic offense and proceeded to conduct a consented search of the vehicle.

In the car, marijuana and pills were found.

The driver, a Cleveland man,19, was cited for the traffic offense. He was not further charged, as the pills were sent to a lab for testing.
