UConn Women Heading To Germany To Tip Off 2025-26 Hoop Campaign
The event is hosted by ESPN Events and the contest will mark the first-ever women's basketball matchup in the Armed Forces Classic.
The Huskies and Cardinals are slated to take the court on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. Ramstein is hosting the Armed Forces Classic for the third time and was the site of the inaugural Classic in 2012, which featured the UConn men's team.
"We want to do as much as we possibly can, both personally and team-wise, to support our armed forces," UConn head coach Geno Auriemma said. "I'm glad we're getting the opportunity to go overseas and have many of our military members see us play in person. I know it'll be an experience of a lifetime for everyone in our program."
The game will be televised on ESPN. The event will be the 10th edition of the Armed Forces Classic. Owned and operated by ESPN Events, the Armed Forces Classic was created in 2012 as part of ESPN's annual America's Heroes: Salute to Veterans initiative, which dedicates a week of multi-platform programming for Veterans Day.
