SAN ANTONIO - The HD 118 race tonight between Republican incumbent John Lujan and Democratic challenger Kristian Carranza is gonna be a tight one.

It's anticipated that it could come down to just a couple hundred votes!

Tonight we will be at the Lujan campaigns watch party down at the Mission Open Air Market on the South Side.

This race is going to go a long way in deciding if Texas will have school vouchers or not.

Lujan is a yes vote. Carranza is a staunch no vote. It is one of the key issues for each campaign.

Carranza had this to say regarding the campaign:

"We've left it all on the field and that's all that we can do. I am so excited and I am so proud of this campaign. We've been talking to voters and meeting them where they are at since day one."

Regarding private school vouchers;

"It's so important to voters across this district that we are holding the line against private school vouchers. If we can flip this seat tonight then we can hold the line and I am just so grateful that I can run to represent my community," Carranza said.

And regarding how she is feeling as the campaign closes and results start to come in:

"I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. You know, we have always said since day one that this is going to come down to a razor this margin and we are going to let the voters of D118 tell us who is going to win the seat," Carranza said.
